Renewable Energy in KwaZulu-Natal
Lindon Corporation undertook an assessment of renewable energy (RE) resources in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), South Africa, on behalf of the KZN Department of Economic Development (DEDT). RE resources that were identified has having potential included gas from waste (landfill and treatment plants), solar (PV and SWH), wind, bio-mass, bio-fuel and hydro-electric schemes (river, reservoir and aqueduct-based).
Lindon also assessed KZN’s potential to create and sustain an RE cluster to co-ordinate and stimulate research, development and investment.
The end result was a RE resource map and an implementation plan for the establishment of an RE Cluster in KZN.
